I have a motor design and I am trying to solve a transient thermal test.

I just want to know for the peak torque and speed of the motor, how long it takes for the motor to reach a certain temperature.

But I can´t find the way to do that, it always give me the same, all I want is a plot of temperature vs time .

I also have not been able to fond a tutorial or reference, so please help me

Thank you in advance

    Hi,

In Flux thermal there is two type of application:

    1. Steady state
    2. transient

For each application you need to enter the thermal data of the motor.

To see the evolution of the temperature vs time you need to use the transient application.

For Flux supervisor example, you can start by the IPM example (without capacitance) to see how we make the thermal analysis. As a second step you add the capacitance (in the material proprieties, you add the value of the volumetric heat capacity for each material that you use, this allows to see the transient part). In this the last cast you will see the evolution of the temperature as function of the time until reaching the steady state.

About the supervisor example : flux supervisor  2D>>technical tutorials >>Brushless IPM motor_thermal analysis

    Best regards.
