Optistruct solver stuck at progress 13% for hours

Hello everyone,

I am performing a transient dynamics analysis on a rocket structure. There are no errors when I run the analysis but the analysis stays at 11 - 13 % every time I run it.

If you know, could you tell me the possible reasons for that?

I am attaching a screenshot with this query.image

It stays like this for hours.

Thanks

how did you steup your TSTEP card? and what are the results that you're requesting?

What is your model size? (# of elements and nodes)

Can you share your .out file?

Transient analysis is very time consuming, indeed. Specially if you're requesting a small timestep, and also requesting too many responses.

Another thing, Direct transient analysis is the most expensive one, in general.

Have you tried Modal Transient? It might speed-up a little bit your analysis, in most of the cases.

I have attached images of tstep, and load step inputs.

I'm interested in displacement and stress results.

Thank you for the advice. I'll try Modal transient analysis.
