Half of Machine vs Full Machine

Hello guys,

im working on a machine, my aim is to get a high torque. Im doing different tests but and i noticed that if i simulate the half of the machine and then the full machine, i get different torques. The plot is the same but the results are half less on the full machine. So for example if i get on the half of the machine a torque of 1000 Nm, on the full machine i get a torque of 500 Nm.

Any pointers from your side ?

    Hello,

    thanks for the reply.

    I uploaded them here https://www.sendspace.com/file/wel4vp

    Additionally im working on incresing the torque so any tips are appreciated.

    Hi,

    As I said in my previous email, when you represent the full motor, you need to change the number of turns. If I use 24 instead of 12 for full motor, I get the same torque as in the case of half motor.

    If you want to increase your torque:

    1. Increase the iron length of the motor
    2. Supplied current
    3. Number of poles

    Best regards.

    Hi,

    Can you check the mesh that you use when you represent the full machine?

    Can you send us your Flux project?

    Thanks.

    Hello Abdesssamed,

    another question. The number of turns that you said, in Flux is that the number of turns in a coil or the total number of turns in a phase. My idea in the beginning was to to have a phase turn number of

    N = slots = 24

    m = phase = 3

    w = turn number of 1 coil= 12

    w*N/m = 96 turns for a phase.

    Now i entered 12 turns for a coil in the Face Region -> Phase1_Pos Phase1_Neg etc.

    Just wanted to clarify if i should enter the number of turns for a phase there (means 96 for the full machine and 48 for the half)?

    Best regards

    Hi,

    In your case when you have created the full machine, you kept the same face region for the coil and the same number of turns. In principle you need to create another face region with the same turns number (12 in your case). But If you kept the same region, you need to change the number of turns.

    Best regards.
