Hi, #ShellModel #PSHELL
I am studying on a shell model. My model consist of a simple rectangular body with dimensions of 2x2x0.2. The material properties of my solid is E = 2100, v = 0.42, and rho = 1.15e-9.

As this is a simple geometry I tried to compare moment of inertias of FEM and hand calculations. In most of the websites moment of inertias of a rectangle is calculated as in the figure.

However when I checked the moments from the summary tool of the hypermesh they come up to be

which are not same with hand calculation. So my question is what is how HM calculates the moment of intertias of the body. There can be a wrong calculation in HM or not? So If you have any idea please let me know.
Thank you.
