Skipping Rows in Monarch Classic

Hi all

Is there way to build in skipping/ignoring a fixed number of rows from an Excel sheet in a Classic model? I know I could do it in DPS then open in Classic but I'd like to keep the number of steps as small as possible.

I'm afraid there is no "skip lines" option for Excel files in Classic. What's the reason for needing Classic? If it's summaries, then the new "Analyze" tab in DPS may do what you need.

Yes, it is summaries. Most of my models have 15-20 summaries based on (compound) filters - am I right in thinking there's no way of replicating that in DPS?

The classic does not provide skip rows option when loading an Excel sheet. You can load the entire sheet in Classic. You can use the following steps and skip rows from the beginning:
After you loaded an Excel sheet in the Classic table view, Create a calculated field (call it row no) and use the RowNo() function.
Create a filter that [row no]>=5 (to skip the first 5 rows).
on table view, apply the filter.

Hi Andy,

You can probably replicate the structure of the summary in the DPS Analyze tab, but you're correct in thinking that we don't yet have named or compound filters available in DPS.

For a few views, it may have been practical to duplicate the table and apply static filters, but I don't see this being a good option for 15 or 20 views.

I hope Mo's suggestion of the RecNo() [based on source row number] or RowNo() [based on current table order], will do the trick.
