Permanent Magnet Tubular Linear Motor (PMTLM) simulation

Hi!

I am a mechatronic student and i'm trying to develop a PMTLM for my graduation. I want to use Flux to simulate the motor and correlate the coils currents with the output force of the motor.

The motor has 6 coils that involve a tube with permanent magnets with axial magnetization.

My case is very similiar to the image 'example1.png' I attached here.

I was able to create a Flux 2D project for myself, but I am failing to simulate because I dont know the software well.

I already built the geometry, the pyshics (material, coils currentes, etc.), but I am failing to solve. (I'm not sure if I have done everything in a correct way).

The last error message i had was: 'The sliding surface of the mechanical set TRANSLACAO is incoherent with the direction of the translation movement'
Concerned line(s) : 163 '.
The error above was called for the line 171 too. Both lines are the outer liners of the coils geometry.

I attached my project too and I hope someone could help me.

Thanks

    Hi Joao,

This error happens because you have moving part (coil) inside another region (air). To include motion in Flux you have to use one of two techniques : sliding interface or remeshing (see attached doc under kinematic section for more info).

In your case, It would be easier to use remeshing so you need to create a new mech set of compressible type and assign it to the air around the coil.

    Thanks,
