3D curve (2D grid) only for a specific computational region

Hello,

I want to export the constant electric field lines in a .txt file. For that, I was thinking to create a 3D curve (2Dgrid) and then exporte this curve. I created this 2D grid that has 3 regions (image below left): Air, C: conductor and I: insulation, but I only want the data of the constant electic field lines of Air region (image below rigth).

However, when I tried to generate the 3D curve (as in the image below), I got this error message where it says that as there are points outside the selected region, it can not create the 3D curve  (image below, error).

Is there any option to generate the 3D curve only in the region I want? Is there any other alternative to obtain the constant electric field lines in the air and export them in a .txt/.csv file?

Thank you in advanced!

    Hi Leire Elorza,

At the moment it is not possible to create a specified 2D grid(only the predefined shapes can be created), so it is not possible to only get the data of the constant electric field lines of Air region using this method, you only can get all the data in the 2D grid for all regions that intersect it.

In your case, in order to get the electric field from the air region you need to create Isolines representation  from the Graphic menu and set the Air region as support for the isolines. Then you save your isolines representation as a txt or excel file.

    Best regards,

    Alexandru

    Hello Alexandru,

Thank you for your answer. I tried to graph the isolines of the air and export them as a txt file (right click in the generated isolines -> txt export) but the only data that appears in this txt file is the one in the image below.

Do you know if is there any other option where I can export the data of the isolines? I would like to export the XY coordinates and the electric field magnitude.

    Thank you in advanced,

    Leire
