Solution Accuracy

  I am interested in simulating 3d anisotropic scatterer's and am trying to determine the accuracy of my results? For my particular situation, I do not have any analytic solutions to compare against. So in general how does one ensure the solution is accurate?

1) Do a mesh convergence check -> rerun with 50% more mesh elements and see if the solution changes

2) Compare with another (3rd party) solver if you have access to one.

3) Compare a similar model with a published result 

4) Solve a similar model for which there are measurements available and compare to gain confidence in your modelling.
