FEM Solution Convergence

  If am using a pure FEM solution such that my entire simulation is surrounded by an air box with absorbing boundary conditions. If the solution is not iteratively converging is it a product of the air box being too small relative to the incident wavelength, the mesh not being refined enough, the medium properties or a combination of all three?

    Hi,

    Kindly share the model if possible or check the results by changing the mesh size into custom,air box sizes to lambda/4 and solver setting of FEM to second order.

    The section in the user manual appendix, 'A-2.8 How to Improve Convergence for the MoM / FEM' is generally also applicable to a pure FEM solution. 

    Try some of those options.
