Anisotropic Dielectric Reference Direction

  When using the FEM to simulate a 3-D anisotropic dielectric, under the option reference workplane, how is the reference workplane defined? When I input matrix elements are they always defined in a cartesian coordinate system or does it depend on the definition method?
