HyperMesh Part Browser - "Main part XXXX failed offset calc."
Within HM part browser sometimes when I import a part from CAD and then go to "link" the instance of it to an existing instance within the model it will not work and I get a message "Main part XXXX failed offset calc."
What does this mean and what causes it?
The part I am trying to link are the actual same CAD part but only imported at a different time (hence why they frustratingly get different UID's).
Is there a workaround for this error?
Thanks.

Hello Richard,
If I understand well, you have a model, and you will imported a new part into your model to update this one ?
If yes, the goal of the parts browser is to manage that with representation.
In fact, you will save the new CAD into your library with a new Major or Study revision. In this case, because you load representation, you keep the UID and the instance in your model.
And you can use the library viewer to watch the historic of the parts, see comments, date of modification ...
You will find below video about the model assembly workflow :

Does it help you?
