What is the reference paper for equation that determine the pulation size of genetic algorithm in the manual of Hyperstudy?

There is a equation recommended in the manual of Hyperstudy that is used to determine the population size for the genetic algorithm, as shown following.
Pulation Size=[3+37*e^(−sqrt((N−1)/5.806))]*N
I tried to find the reference for this equation, but failed.
Can someone share your knowledge with me how to get this equation? Thank you.

Hello Zhang Ye,
In general, the difficulty to find the global optima will be significantly increased with the increasing of the number of design variables. Increasing the population size allows Genetic Algorithm to find the global optima with larger probability. As for the formulation to calculate the population size, it is not from published references, but derived from our experiments.
