Which text editor could be used to edit. hm extension? What is the format of data stored in that extension?

I need to edit .hm extension 

If it's Altair's format, you need ... Hypermesh :-)

*.hm files cannot be edited with text editors, but exported solver decks (*.fem, *.rad) can be edited.
