Summary Report exported into multiple tabs and naming macro for date in exported file name problem
is it possible to have a summary export distributed among multiple tabs that has a file name with the date variable?
My summary report exports correctly into multiple tabs based on distinct value of first key with a constant file name. When I add the current date variable to the exported file name, the file is created without interpreting the value for date variable. For example, the file is created as &[mm]&[dd]&[yy]_SummaryExport.xlsx rather than 013119_SummaryExport.xlsx.
The converse is also true. I have a detail file that exports correctly with a date variable in the file name.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Ann,
I'll look into this. They are not mutually exclusive, as far as I know. Which version of Automator are you using? Is it a standard or Visual process?
In the meantime, you should be able to export with a static file name, then add a distribution to include the date macro.
Regards,
Steve.

We have Automator version 12.2 and Monarch version 14.2. It occurs when exporting directly from Monarch. Thanks for the work around suggestion.Steve Caiels_21881 said:Hi Ann,

Macro naming and distributions are only available in Automator. I'm afraid the workaround suggestion won't be of any use to you in desktop Monarch, either.

Steve.

I tested a summary export to multiple tabs based on a unique key in the Automator v12.2.50.47.
I used date macro preceding the file name, and it worked for me.
I used the following date macros in the file name and both worked just fine:
&[mm]&[dd]&[yy]_export1.xlsx
&[yyyy]&[mm]&dd]_export1.xlsx
The last patch update for the Datawatch Server Automator v12.2 is 12.2.50.58. I know you said you are using v12.2, but you may not installed the latest patch for v12.2. It could be a bug in early version of Automator 12.2.
I suggest you either apply the latest patch for version 12.2, or better yet, upgrade the Datawatch Server Automator v12.2 to Monarch Server Automator v15.3.0.
Please contact the support@datawatch.com and request for a download link for the patch or upgrade.
