Workspace Exports in a visual process

Hello,

I have a Workspace that I set up with several exports saved in it as well. When I try to set up the Workspace into a Visual process, I am unable to use the exports I have already created in Data Prep Studio. The 'DataPrep Export' only allows to set up new exports, and only 1 at a time.

Is there a way within a visual process that I can use the exports that I already have set up?

Hi Melissa,

I'm afraid not. You need to create an export for each one. It should look something like this :-

You can then highlight all the exports and create a group, if you wish. It functions in exactly the same way, but makes the layout a little easier to manage.

Hi Melissa,
Currently exports that are created in DPS and saved in a workspace are not available in the Visual Process, and you need to recreate each export in Visual Process.

Hi @Melissa Falardeau!

Unfortunately I don't believe we have that option currently. I believe one reason for that has to do with what drives/export locations your profile has access to on the desktop vs what drives/export locations the Service Account in Automator has access to.

Assuming the service account has access to the same locations, you still have to recreate the exports a because they are 'new' to that user profile (Automator).

i hope that makes some sense. Apologies it's definitely an inconvenience.

i recommend two options: Setting up named paths to help with streamlining exporting in Automator, and creating your workspaces without any exports (for those processes you plan to automate).

How many exports did you create for this process?
