Connectivity issues in the mesh
Greetings,
I have meshed a file which contains two tubes joined by a weld.
i have checked the part and there are no duplicate elements and there are no disconnected elements.
But when i checked for connectivity, i got an error message saying ' 4 elements are found to have questionable connectivity'.
The highlighted element is failing for connectivity. This is at the joining of the two tubes.
This is at the weld.
NOTE: The element where its three nodes are connected to another part is failing as observed in the pictures. I have also tried spliting them into trias, it gave no error message. But i need quads for better flow
i have attached a similar file, please take a look at that connectivity in the tools panel.
Please help me out with this.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Correct. This is not good practice. You should split this into trias to have proper connectivity.

Can you please explain why it's not a good practice. And can you give another way to mesh it without using trias
Thanks for the reply

You have penetration between the underlying base elements and the weld element (basically coincident)
I don't believe you would get a solver error though do you?

Sir, i am not getting any solver error but im using ansys for post processing. I element that has shown error in the connectivity is not visible in the ansys.
same while viewing the displacements its not showing the element. But there are no hotspots or stress concentrations over there.
i think a quad element can only be connected to 8 other quad elements in our case its 9. Is it true?
Can i split the element at the back into tria, because i getting no error. Can i do that?
Thanks for support Mr. Craanen

Hello,
check for the order of the element that fails for connectivity, or You can check for equivalent nodes and equivalence them, to resolve the connectivity issue.
