Has flux any tool to consider coil additional losses?
Hello,
I have a question about calculating coil losses in transformer and core inductance applications. Has flux any tool or way to get this coil losses. This losses are produced by the joule effect that I am able to calculte and also other additional losses. My question is about getting this additional losses. Is any way to get this losses in flux?
Thank you,

Hi,
generally, the losses in winding are divided into two parts:
- DC losses
- AC losses (proximity and skin effect)
In Flux, yes there is a way to consider of the AC losses. This option is available in steady state AC application.
In the supervisor there is an example showing how you can consider this type of losses.
Thank.

The supervisor example “ inductive proximity sensor”

I am working on 3D flux models and using non-meshed coils is it possible to get additional losses from that?
Thank you for your answer

Unfortunately it is not possible to do it for non-meshed coil. you need to represent you coils to get the additionnal losses.
Thanks.

Thank you for your help. I will put another question later on if I have problems defining the meshed coils. I dont know if you know where I can find help or an example for that.
Thank you
