cannot create a mesh on I beam.

I created this I beam using three seperated solids and merged them together using boolean. I want to study topology optimization later on and trying to mesh the beam but it tells me the selected solid is not mapable. Please let me know what should I do.

Mapping is very sensitive to partitions on the starting and ending surfaces.

To make it mappable the lines marked above need to be removed or the surfaces between the solids need to be left (yellow surface) so each one is mappable separately.  At this point it is probably easiest to just split the solid between the flanges and the web.
