Pretension

Hi all,

 

I’m trying to make a small model to show how pretension is working. For this I made a bolt and fixed it on both sides with DOF1-6 and added one pretension in the middle of the bolt. But it shows me deflection by 10^5. I expected a positive and a negative defection since the nodes at the spoint are copied an overlapped. Where is my error I reasoning?

    Hello everyone,

     

    I would like to ask a question regarding the PTFORCE/PTFORC1/PTADJST/PTADJS1 and PTADD keywords. First of all I am a student in Auth and we mainly use text editors and python scripts in order to prepare fem files for otpimization. My question is related to the PSID field of the above keywords. Should the PSID be unique across all the above keywords?

     

    Running some tests I have found that the solver accepts the same PSID for PTADD and PTFORCE keywords but the PTADD shadows the PTFORCE. Is this normal or just a corner case.
