while changing tria to tetra mesh. is it possible to make it in same component?
Dear all,
I am working as NVH engineer.
in our case , we use terta solid mesh.
my process :
first we will make tria mesh and then we will convert into tetra mesh using ( 3D--> Tetramesh--> tetra mesh --> fixed trais/quads to tetra mesh --> simple pyramid --> create per-volume comps --> create.
Then the tetramesh will create in a component vol001 ( name of the newly created component). so i need to delete the 2d mesh component and also again i have to rename the component /emoticons/default_sad.png' srcset='/emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x' title=':(' width='20' />.
so i want to simplify my process.
i want to create TETRA MESH (3D) in same component where the TRIA elements (2D) are present. but by deleting the 2D tria elements (automatically) during the tetra-mesh conversation process. ???
IS THIS POSSIBLE ?
please give your suggestion.
so that i can save some time. becoz for every item i need to rename for more than 50 components.
thank you.

Hi,
In tetramesh panel we have an option 'mesh to current comp',where the tetramesh will be created in the active collector. Choose the required component collector as current and choose this option so that the created tetra elements will be in the active collector.
From the mask browser mask all the 3D elements and delete the 2D elements.

As mentioned above please create tetramesh using 'mesh to current component'.You can delete all 2d mesh in one go(Delete element by config). There is no automatic way to delete 2d mesh.

first of all, thanks Mr. johnsan & Mr. rahul for the reply.
still i need some clarification.
i meshed nearly 10 to 15 components and i convert ( trias to tetra) all the components at the same time.
if i give mesh to current component, all the 15 components come in to the current component.
but i need , the 3d mesh to be in corresponding component.
is there a way.?
please give your suggestion
thank you

Hi,
As you said when tetras are created for many components at a time all the components will come in to the current component collector. And I don't think it's possible to be in the corresponding component collector.
Only possibility is to perform tetramesh individually for each component.

You can also try Altair Simlab for meshing 3d part. There you dont need to create any additional component & organize them individually.

Yes there is no way to mesh tetra to original comp. I think there should be a tcl script for that task. Did you search it on script exchange?
A same issue with linear solid mesh, and i had to make an hm template to do
