Network Schematic and 3D model in FEKO

Hello,

I modeled a PIFA antenna in FEKO. I excited the antenna with wire port. Till here everything is clear.  I would like to inherit the properties of a PEC solid cable into simulation. For this I opened a network schematic and in the network schematic, I connected the wire port to port 1 of transmission line with specific properties and port 2 of transmission line is connected to a voltage source. So my question is how can I simulate this model. I normally simulated the antenna model but am not sure what FEKO is doing with the network schematic. Any comments please.

    Hello Sravan321,

I'm not sure what the question is and need some clarification. If you want to take the effect of the transmission line (cable) into account, it sounds like you have already done this by adding the the transmission line to your model. Adding the transmission line will only take into account the effect of the phase (delay), losses and mismatch. These ideal transmission line (non-radiating networks) are not consider coupling directly (not in the 3D model).

Example 'A-7 Log periodic antenna' illustrates the usage of non-radiating transmission lines and example 'E-4 Subdividing a model using non-radiating networks' is also very illustrative w.r.t. non-radiating network usage in models.
