Antenna Side Lobes Symmetry Issue

Hello

I simulate a microstrip antenna array with a single input using FEKO (64 elements).

Attached the FEKO design file.

For some reason the first side lobes on VN plane are not symmetrical and the beam is a bit shifted.

I have checked and rechecked the design and I don't find any symmetry issue.

What can be the root cause for this issue?

Thanks.

The results in general will be symmetric if the mesh is symmetric, which can be enforced by specifying symmetry wherever applicable. You can translate your geometry to center it around the origin of the global coordinate system and apply symmetry (available under the solve/run tab in CADFEKO).

    Hello

Is it possible to move the coordinate system to be in the center of geometry instead of moving the geometry to be around the origin?

Yes, you can add another default coordinate system called "workplane" which is defined by the relative origin coordinates and axis directions. However, if you want to apply "Symmetry" you should follow the Global XY coordinate system.
