Hello,

I have been using EDEM for some time now, all of a sudden the screen froze so I re-opened the setup to start the simulation.
The EDEM display is as shown in the screenshot. I have tried opening the setup multiple times with no luck.

Please help.

Regards,
Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

This seems like a graphics issue or a licensing issue. To help determine which could you run EDEM with the --debug-logger command, for example:

    C:\Program Files\Altair\2023\EDEM\bin\edem.exe --debug-logger c:\processing\output.txt

You can change the location of the output.txt file but this should tell us where EDEM is stopping when opening.

If it's a license issue can you check the Altair license utility and that you have enough units.

If it's a graphics issue can you update your graphics drivers which may help. Also sometimes if you have multiple graphics cards EDEM may default to one which isn't supported, you can change the default card a program opens by following this guide:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000090168/graphics.html

    Regards
    Stephen

    Hey Stephen,

Thanks for writing, the issue resolved on its own, the only issue that persists is that the software takes a long time to load and currently my EDEM screen is frozen.

I have attached the output log file and the screenshot for your reference.

    Thanks,

    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

It looks like the simulation file is on OneDrive, if you save locally does this help with the speed and responsiveness?
