I´m using the newest student version of Hyperworks Desktop. When I open it and try to import a stp file always the same error appeares: A segmentation error occurred. Do you want to save the model?

And in the left bottom corner it says: Components must be specified.

Can someone help me to solve this problem?

any .stp file crashes? or only this one? if all of them fail, maybe your installation might be corrupted. if not, maybe something particular to this geometry.

I tried it with different files and there is always the same problem. But a few days ago it worked without any errors. And I didnt reinstall it.

try deleting these files listed here and launch HM again to check if it gets better,

So I also have to delete the .Altair folder, where my licence is located? I deleted all of the folders, but nothing changed..

What does the comment "components must be specified" even mean?

    don't delete your license. :)

maybe move it and update your environment variables to point to the new location. then, delete these folders.

i don't know exactly what this message about the components means. /other fortmats, such as parasolid files give the same error?

Yes i have done so. But still the same error. Is it important, in which folders I save my models?
