How can I increase the number of CPU cores running my Altair EDEM simulation?

Dear Altair community,

I am using a Dell Precision 5560 Machine and running a simulation on Altair EDEM. My machine has 16 cores, but only 2 cores are apparing on the CPU solver settings. I used to be able to use up to 14 cores previously and I would like to do that again. I tried selecting the '16 cores' option on EDEM preferences and msconfig and rebooted my PC but it is not helping.

Could anyone please help?

Best,

Trisha.

    Hi Trisha

It seems like you are using the Student Version of EDEM. The Student Version is limited to 2 cores only. I think you may have used the Full version of EDEM previously, because of which you were able to use more cores.

Please talk to the individual handling your license to get you a non-student license, and you should be able to run it on more cores.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
