How to increase resolution of cylinder geometry?

Hi all,

if i insert a cylinder geometry in EDEM it is quite edgy. I need it more "round", so can we increase the resolution of a cylinder?

Hi Clemens,

The reason for not capturing cylinder is the element size shown below picture.

You have to reduce the element size in min Size and Max Size based the pipe/cylinder diameter.

So that you can capture the cylinder shape correctly

Hi Clemens,

There are no options to control element size when you create geometry in EDEM but for cylinder what you mentioned we have not seen such an issue, can you please share the deck to review it?

i have no deck to share at the moment. But see attached a picture. The cylinders i create in EDEM 2022.3 are way coarse..

Hi Clemens,

As i said we can not control the mesh for the parts created with in EDEM, if you want you can create a geometry in cad software and follow instruction as i said in previous message to ontrol the element size to capture the roundness.
