Steve is correct that the only thing you have control over are the data types (Character, Memo, Numeric, Date/Time). I did do a quick test in Monarch Classic (v16 aka v2020) and if the data type is set to Character, it will export as Short Text. Memo fields export as Long Text.*EDITI went back and tried the same thing in Data Prep Studio (v2020) and it appears both character and memo fields are exported as "Long Text" for both .MDB and .ACCDB files. After some research, this is expected behavior inside of DPS. The workaround would be to either do everything in Monarch Classic or export your DPS table and then open that export in Monarch Classic.------------------------------Chris PorthouseSenior Professional Services ConsultantAltair-------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Message:Sent: 09-03-2020 04:43 AMFrom: Nadine RyanSubject: Txt typeHi Guys,Is there a way to change a data field to short text and not long text when you are exporting to accessThanks in advanceNadine------------------------------Nadine RyanTeam OwnerEasi SolutionsTuam00353872504753------------------------------"

Hi Nadine,Unfortunately not. The only control you have is with the field types in the Classic or DPS table (Memo, Text, Numeric, Date/Time)What problems is it causing? Maybe there is a way around it.Regards,Steve.------------------------------Steve CaielsProfessional ServicesAltair-------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Message:Sent: 09-03-2020 04:43 AMFrom: Nadine RyanSubject: Txt typeHi Guys,Is there a way to change a data field to short text and not long text when you are exporting to accessThanks in advanceNadine------------------------------Nadine RyanTeam OwnerEasi SolutionsTuam00353872504753------------------------------"
