wrong automesh element

Dear,

I am using HM v14 hotfix 131. I have a sample surface:

- I use F12 automesh > surfs, mesh is OK

- Then, due to a certain reason, I have to remesh above created elements. But it is wrong:

- You can see some nodes are not lay on the surface, and biggest problem here is those nodes are considered to be associated with the surface

- Please test above things on your HM and tell me result

- In previous hypermesh version (13, 12,..) I did not see this bug.

as my experience, newer version of HM usually comes with problems

    Hi Tinh,

I just tried with the model and faced the same.

I will consult with the relevant team and will update the progress soon.

Press O keyboar to go to option panel, then choose mesh panel, choose node tolerance = 0.1.

Thanks @alpha . node tolerance seems to be a very sensitive setting, once it affects to @vectorlookup, too

    Hello @alpha

I changed tolerance to 0.1 but with this surface, it is still wrong

I cannot set higher tolerance value because when project nodes nearby an edge, those nodes will jump to edge instead of surface interior area

after remesh, some nodes fall out surface, but they are still associated to the surface. it is wrong

I have to downgrade HM to v13 if this problem is not overcomed

    I tested with HM 2017 successfully :)/emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20' />

    In your model, I see:

    • geometry: cleanup tol = 0.01
    • mesh: node tol=  0.1

In my experience, I never set tolerances which are too different. In your case, I tested with cleanup tol = 0.05 (=50% of node tol). I'm not sure that the cause of your issue. I'm working always with 'node tol' = 2x 'cleanup tol'.
