(WinProp) Can I adjust the temperature parameter used in thermal noise calculations? If not, what is the default temperature value?

Greetings,

I'm currently utilizing WinProp for network analysis.

During my analysis in ProMan, I calculated the Signal-to-Noise-plus-Interference Ratio (SNIR), where thermal noise plays a significant role.

As you may know, determining thermal noise requires inputting a temperature value. However, I've been unable to locate the section to input this temperature value within the "Edit Project Parameters" menu.

Could someone kindly direct me to the appropriate section for entering the temperature value?

If such a section does not exist, assuming a default temperature value of 274~275 K, could someone confirm the exact default temperature value?

Thank you in advance for any assistance provided.

Best regards, Drgn

    Hello Drgn,

by default a temperature of 300.0 K for computing the thermal noise power is assumed.

The temperature value itself cannot be changed in the parameter section, but the Noise Figure of the receiver can be configured, e.g. under Mobile Station settings under the Air Interface tab of the "Edit Project Parameters" menu.
Please adapt the value for the noise figure accordingly if you want to consider a higher or lower temperature for the thermal noise power.

    Best regards,
    Reiner
