Mesh has grey spaces
Hello all,
I am Arun from Windsor, Canada. I am learning to mesh the hood of a car using hyperworks 2021 Student edition. I am trying to figure why I am getting grey spaces in my mesh.
The quality criteria I set for the mesh is as follows:
S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
2 | Skewness | 45 |
3 | Warping | 15 |
4 | Taper | 0.5 |
5 | Min. Length | 2 Units |
6 | Max. Length | 8 Units |
7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
10 | Tria % | 10 |
The other parameters are set to default. I tried
1. Smoothening the elements
2. Translating the elements
But both the options weren't helpful.
Kindly please give me some suggestions to tackle this problem.
Or let me know if this is just a software bug
I am using a windows 10 home laptop with AMD radeon graphics card powered by Intel i5 processor with 8GB RAM.

looks like it's just a superposition of your geometry over your mehs.
If you hide your geometry, leaving the mesh only, you will probably get a better view.
