I've been trying to open HyperMesh and HyperView, and I keep getting a blank popup with nothing opening. I was able to open HyperMesh yesterday, and I've tried restarting my computer.

    Hi Tina,

It would help to have more details regarding your Hardware, Operating System, Graphics Drivers, version of HW you are using to correctly diagnose this issue.

Generally speaking, when you have HW working one day and not working another day, we find in some situations it is could due to the antivirus/antispyware program being blocking the launch of the product.

Can you look into that and open up the needed permissions to enable the product to launch. If that doesent help. Please provide more details and we can take a closer look.

I am having the same issue. Did you resolve your issue?

I have an HP Z4 workstation with Intel Xeon processors running Windows 10 Enterprise. Graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 with driver version 441.12. I have been running HyperWorks 2021 on this machine nearly every day for the past year. Suddenly, this week I can no longer launch HyperWorks. When I try, there is a longer than usual delay before a window appears. The window that opens is gray with no menus, buttons, etc. This window stays up with no further activity for about 5 minutes, then disappears.

Based on the comments from Chayan, I did update to the latest production NVIDIA graphics driver (version 512.78). Other than a quicker initial wait for the window to open, nothing else seems to have changed. I still see the gray, empty window with no progress for several minutes before it closes without notice.

I have, of course, restarted multiple times. I have also uninstalled all versions of HyperWorks on my workstation and tried a fresh install of verison 2021.2 (latest recommended at my company). None of this has helped.

Interestingly, I also have a laptop with HyperWorks installed, and I'm still able to run HyperWorks without issue on that machine. My colleagues have also not experienced issues with their HyperWorks installations. This makes me suspect the issue is specific to my machine, and not an issue with the enterprise antivirus software, for example.

    Any suggestions?

    Andrew,

Can you run this script to perform a cleanup of your session files. A corrupt session file can cause this kind of behavior too:

    C:\Program Files\Altair\2022\hwdesktop\utility\HWCleanup\HyperworksWindowsCleanup.bat

Thank you. This solved my issue.

For what it's worth, I did also delete the HW_CONFIG_PATH environment variable. I found that this was pointing to an network drive location hosted on the other side of the world. This caused the cleanup script to run VERY slowly. This environment variable was not present on my laptop.

Excellent. That is good to hear. Thanks also for the note on the HW_Config_Path.
