Rewarding and Encouraging Community Participation: What motivates you?
The Altair Community has now been up and running for almost four months. Thank you to each member that has quickly jumped in an actively helped answer questions, initiate discussions and comment on articles, upvote, etc.
Motivation is different for everyone. It can be driven by personality, expectations, ambition, rewards, needs, wants, desires, skills… the list goes on…
So what motivates you? What are subtle improvements we can make within the Community that would encourage you to participate?
There is no right or wrong answer, so please feel free to post freely! All feedback will help guide us in how we continue to refine the experience for all of our community members.
Tip: Learn about the different activities you can start doing today to earn points and badges in the Community.
Thanks!

Hi Danielle and Community Team,
i really like many aspects here, and most of all having this sense of community, where people are willing to help, and sharing their knowledge. I think the points system and leaderboard give a boost! It is always nice to earn some points for helping.
Motivations: My personal motivation is to help people and try to share what I've learned by using HyperWorks all these years (10+).
Improvements: From my perspective, i'd like to have some customization of my landing page, so that i could easily filter my Topics of interest first. Similar to what we have today in the main page, with the "latest topics".
Maybe grouping also some 'trending topics' would be a great addition here. What people are discussing more.
One thing that I believe it would be good to add is some sort of "question template" for new questions: There are some questions that people just write their questions in the 'Title' area, and do not describe well their problem. These are hard to help. I believe Community could have some 'tips' shown, telling the users to give a good description of their problems, include some images, what version are you using,...
"help others to assist you"..."tips for not being ignored.."
I hope this was helpful and I'd like to hear what others think too.
