Excel file not loading into Monarch

Hello,

I'm trying to load a number of excel sheets into Monarch in view of combining & manipulating the data within them, however when I try loading the files, no data is coming through.

Attached is an example file I'm trying to load.

Please could you take a look and see what the problem could be?

When opening them in excel a message comes up saying the file format and extension don't match, which could be something to do with the issue, but if you ignore the dialog box and open the file the data is in there in excel, and all is working okay. It's just loading it into Monarch where there's a problem.

    The file has the Excel extension (XLS), but the content is not excel.  It appears to be a delimited text file (possibly null or tab delimited).  Try changing the extension from xls to csv or tsv.

    Ah yes! When I click Save As, the default file type comes up as Text (Tab delimited), so I reckon it's most likely Tab Delimited as you mention.

    I just saved one of the files as XLS and tried importing it into Monarch and that worked.

    Is there a way we can import Tab Delimited files into Monarch by any chance?

    I have about 300 of these files, so going in and converting them to XLS one by one will be quite time consuming. Unless otherwise there's a way I can batch convert them first?

    Ideally if we could import tab delimited file into Monarch that would be the best option!

    Yes.  If you are using Monarch Classic, select File->Open->Database and then browse to file you want to load.  You may have to change the file filter to All files or Delimited Text Files.

    If you are using Data Prep Studio, Select Open Data->PDF & Text->Delimited Text.
