Hi all experts,

I have a question: are there any rule to specify the radius or length of the gate in Inspire Cast? Is it depend on Cast part's dimentions?

Thanks.

    Hi Nancy,

Gate dimension in casting is more like a castebility term. The term gating ratio describes the relative cross-sectional areas of the gating system components. It is defined as the ratio of the sprue area (As) to the total runner area (Ar) to the total gate area (Ag). i.e. Gating ratio a : b: c = Sprue area: Runner. Inspire Cast is the simulation tool that allows you to quickly recognize right gate dimension to fill the part without any issue by running various iterations under different gate sizes.
