HELLO, I HAVE A PROBLEM, I AM SIMULATING IN EDEM A MILL WITH A CYLINDRICAL SHAPE 150mm LONG AND 150 MILLIMETERS INSIDE DIAMETER, CORRESPONDING TO A PAPER, THE PARTICLES ARE somewhat rounded cylinders with heights approximately equal to their diameters, of 3 mm and are of plastic beads. I am simulating with 25% of the mill volume. which corresponds to 34452 particles. and when I simulate it stops at 21%. THE DATA OF MY PROCESSOR ARE: Device Name: DESKTOP-44R8TE9 Processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.88 GB usable) Device ID 1C886826-D8B5-4581-A20A-CA88F51C0E7E Product ID 00326-30000-00001-AA217 System type 64-bit operating system, x64 processor THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS: Edition: Windows 10 Home Version: 20H2 Installed on: 11/23/2020 OS Build: 19042.985 Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0 PLEASE ALTAIR RECOMMEND ME TO WRITE IN THIS FORUM, IF THEY WOULD KINDLY GIVE ME AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM, SINCE I CANNOT FOLLOW MY INVESTIGATION.

Hi Carlos,

Can you confirm you are using the latest version of EDEM (2021.1)?  Also are any error messages shown after the simulation stops at 21% completion?

 

EDEM does by default save a lot of data, can you confirm that your hard disk drive is not full in the location where you are saving the data.  I'd also recommend setting the grid size (RMin value) to 3 RMin if you haven't already, if this gives you a memory error you can increase this value.

MY VERSION IS 2021.0, NO ERROR MESSAGES ARE DISPLAYING. THE VALUE OF THE GRID SIZE IS 3R, ALSO TEST WITH 4R, THE START TIME IS ONE SECOND AND THE TOTAL TIME IS 5 SECONDS. STOPS AT 21%.
