Reflecting Solid Mesh

Hello everyone,

i have a problem when reflecting a solid mesh. For better mappability i split a flange along its symmety plane. Meshed the surfaces with 2d automesh and then mapped this mesh into the volume. Then i reflected the solid mesh to get the whole flange (The reflected mesh is on the right side of the picture). I constraint all DOFs of the upper lateral surface and applied a pressure distribution on the holes, to model a bolt. But when i do my analysis i get displacements in the range of 5e10. It seems that the reflected mesh isn't connected to the original mapped mesh. Shouldn't the reflected mesh automatically be connected to the original mesh? Do i have to connect both meshes manually with master and slave condition?

Thanks for help

You had to duplicate the elements to reflect them and duplicate elements are not connected to the original elements.

You can use the equivalence tool to equivalence all the nodes on the boundary in one shot.
