Freezes, lag, very slow, high cpu loads when using Hypermesh 2021
A lot of simple tasks require a lot of time (5 to 10 minutes with very high CPU load) with Hyperworks 2021.2 which only took seconds in the older releases of hyperworks (i.e. 2019 or 2020) with the same hardware when using hypermesh. Opening component browser takes 10 minutes, creating an adhesive area takes 10 minutes, etc. indepently of the model opened in hypermesh. Anyone else experiencing this?

In addition; when using (very) small models this problem does not occur. It is the large models which give problems in 2021.2 which did not give any problem in 2020. I also noticed the option of 'keep mesh' for the mesh settings has dissappeared; 'advanced remesh' seems to be the default setting which cannot be changed anymore somehow as nothing is listed. See figure below.

Hi Frits,
My suggestions;
1-) Deleting temporary files. Details are at the link below.https://community.altair.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=044688761b2bd0908017dc61ec4bcb69
2-) If you are using more than one Altair version ( 2021.2, 2021.1 etc.) you need to separate the "start-in directory"

I've executed both steps but unfortunately, this did not give any improvement. Do you know how I at least can select the option 'keep mesh' again?

You can refer : Preferences --> Topology Revision options --> 2D mesh --> Disassociate .
But with this , the nodes to be dissociate with surface ( mesh not change), you need to associate again

Thanks for the answer and i've changed it now in 2021. However I think this is a different option than I mean or is this the same option which is now in a different location? This is a Hypermesh 2020 screenshot:

It seems I have an indication now what is causing al those freezes/lags. If I remove all PCOMPP property Cards of the model everything is working flawlessly again similar to using hypermesh 2020. Somehow having a lot of PCOMPP properties (assigned to components) slows down the model massively in Hypermesh 2021.
