HI,

I am wondering what is the difference betwwen evaluation scatter and iteration scatter in the evaluate tab.

When I reveiwing the data.

This is my evaluation scatter.

And this is the iteration scatter plot.

    Hi Jerome Teoh,

An evaluation is a model solved with a different set of input variables.

An iteration is a group of evaluations. The number of evaluations in an iteration depends on the optimization algorithm and/or the number of evaluations per iteration imposed in the Specification part.

In the Evaluation scatter is presented the dependency between two sets of data in a scatter plot for all the evaluations (models evaluated during the optimization process) (for all evaluations): https://2022.help.altair.com/2022/hwdesktop/hst/topics/design_exploration/evaluation_review_t-5.htm#task_s23_bgs_p2b

In the Iteration scatter are presented the dependency between two sets of data that meet the constraints of the optimization and the objective functions has the minimum/maximum value from all the evaluations in each iteration depending on the setting(one evaluation per iteration).

If you want to see the values of your objective functions(goals) vs the number of iterations during the optimization process, check the Iteration plot.
