Hello;
I'm using Hyperworks coupling with EDEM (Both in 2021.2 version). It is possible use de GPU and CUDA Options. In case of yes, how?
Thanks
Hi Joshua, I have the same question, did you manage to use GPU in the coupling of both?Regards,Martin
I would again suggest trying it. I wouldn't expect any issues as both solvers are not running at the same time - but one after the other with information exchange in between. One solver is waiting for the other as they go back and forth exchanging information. Are you seeing any issues/errors when trying that?
If you're referring to using GPU on the AcuSolve side, enter -gpu into the 'Additional Arguments' area of the 'Launch AcuSolve' panel in HyperWorks CFD.
My question goes a little further.
I have used the GPU in both softwares (Hyperworks CFD and EDEM) independently. However, reading the tutorial on how to do the coupling between these two programs, it indicates that the Intel MPI option (Acusolve) and CPU solver (EDEM) be used.
My question is if we can do coupling equally using GPU in Hyperworks CFD, and CUDA GPU in EDEM simultaneously.

I have run a coupled AcuSolve/EDEM solution, using the GPU option in EDEM, but haven't tried GPU in both. I would suggest try it and see. I fully expect both would work using the GPU option.
