Hi all,

Can anyone give me information on preprocessing model in hypermesh for ANSYS and ABAQUS as solver?

Regards,

NYKS

    Hi Nyks,

Please could you give us more details about your request (kind of analysis, type of elements etc...) ?

    Thanks,

    Christophe

    Hi Christophe,

    Sorry for late reply.

I want information on what are the preprocessing steps in the hypermesh to solve any problem using ansys and abaqus as solver. I am familier with only nastran as solver and totaly unaware about the ansys and abaqus solver steps. Like solving simple supported beam, modal analyisis, 3D problems. Basically I want to know what are the control cards, and element types we use in ansys and abaqus which are simillar to hypermesh.

Any tutorial, if you have, will give more deep illustration.

    Thanks for reply,

    Regards,

    NYKS.

    Hi Nyks,

We have a very good interface between ANSYS/ABAQUS and HM.

For ANSYS : In the ANSYS tools (tab Utility), you will find a work-flow to define the ET type, real set, beam section and material. We can also use the contact manager to define the TARGET and CONTA elements.

For ABAQUS : In the ABAQUS tools (tab Utility), you will find the step manager (to define the BC and the loadstep). We have also a contact manager. The properties are defined as Nastran.

I don't advice you on the element types choice for ANSYS and ABAQUS. But we support the element types most use.

You will find on our one line help the tutorials with ANSYS and ABAQUS as solver (topic 'HyperMesh Solver Interfaces Tutorials').

    Regards,

    Christophe

    Hi Christophe,

    Thanks for your information.

But other than HYPERMESH help, do you have any tutorials that will give step by step procedure for solving analyasis problems with preprocessor as HYPERMESH and solver as ANSYS/ABAQUS. Because the help in hypermesh cuould nat able to help me in realy better way.

If you have, your experience of solving these type of problems, can you share with me step by step? That will be great help for me.

One problem I recentaly come across>> Is there any option of exporting FE model+geometry in HYPERMESH. Because I want Geometry as well as elements to apply BC's In ANSYS.(Not in HYPERMESH) with connection of elements with geometry.

    Regards,

    Nyks

    Hi Nyks,

Could you contact your local support?

Unfortunately, I don't have other tutorials.

I know Ansys Classic and really you have to create the BC's on the geometry.

With HM, you are the choice. You can create the BC's on the geometries or on the elements.

We can't export the FE + the geometry but you can create the BC's on HM next export the cdb file (FE file for ANSYS) and import it on ANSYS Classic.

    Regards,

    Christophe
