How to create Node along a Line

Hello,
Try menu 'Geometry->Create->Nodes->Extract on Line' for uniform distribution of xx nodes on line.
Try menu 'Geometry->Create->Nodes->Extract parametric' to generate a node with parametric coordinates.
Try different numbers of nodes (e.g. two nodes generate a node on U lower and U Upper, e.g. 0.25 - 0.75)

Hi Mario,
Thank you for your reply to my problem. I am modeling the outside shell of a Ship. As you know the outside shell of a ship have curvatures. I have Lines Drawing of the shape of the Hull. Now my problem is I need to create a Node/Point along the curve specifying the length along that curve. In short say if I have a Spline Line ( not Arc Curve ) and I need to create a node 800mm from one of the end of the Curve, if you flatten/straighten the Spline Line it will measure 800mm. Can it be done ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Erwin,
Yes, you can do it, but you have to calculate a little bit...
1. Measure the length of the curve, 'Geometry->Check->Lines->Length (e.g. 5400)
2. Calculate the parametric length of your section (e.g. 800->0.148148)
3. Use 'Geometry->Create->Nodes->Extract parametric'
4. lower bound = parametric value, upper bound = 1, number of nodes = 2, arc length
You can cut your line at the node and measure the length again for testing...

thanks sanjay
But what are the vector elements....
I cant select any node, line, point.... so which is vector...

You have to create vector elements.
Vector elements are not nodes, line, point etc.
You have to create a vector element from 1D>>Vectors.
