    Hello,

Card image ... is the type of a specific entity

Card ... is the representation of the specific entitiy with a card image (there are still entities without card images, these entities have no cards)

Example: Preference Radioss Bulk or Nastran bulk

    - a component has no card image, it is only a container for geometry and FE entities, therefore a component has no card

    - create a property (right click in browser->create->property), now you can choose a card image (e.g. PBEAM, PHELL, PSOLID...) dependig on the type of the property you need

    - if you have created a property with a card image (e.g. PSHELL), then you have to tell which parameters do you need for this type of property

    - right click on the created property (in browser) and choose 'card edit'

    - now you can see the 'card' of your property, represented as typical Radioss/Nastran solver card

    - here you can define e.g. the thickness of your PSHELL, this is the card

    Regards,

    Mario

    Hi Mario,

thank you for the clear explanation

so card image is like the color of a box and card is the box storing blue, red, green etc. and even others like length, height etc. am i right?

but if the card can store these information, why we create another definition of collector storing load, BC etc.

    Hi,

we have different types of collectors for better organization.

E.g. components for geometry and finite elements, load collectors for loads and boundary conditions, system collectors for coordinate systems... and so on

Every type of collector can have an card image or not, depends on what i want to put in

Another example: I want to have a gravity load... therfore i have to create a load collector of type (card image) GRAV.

You are right with your box example, i would say ... card image is the type of box (rectangular, round, red, green) and the card describes, what i put into the box (nails, buttons, green paper, white paper) ;-)

    Regards,

    Mario
