import & mesh

Hi,
Open HyperMesh with Abaqus as your user profile and import the CAD file (File>Import>Geometry, select the file format (STEP/IGES) and select the CAD file). Now you can create the FE model (meshing, assign materials,properties, loads...etc) and finally you can export (File>Export>Solver Deck) for solving.
Many tutorials on HyperMesh - Abaqus interface are available in the Help and I recommend you to go through.

Hi
how I do import a CAD file from catia V5 to hyper mesh and meshing it,then export this file into the abaqus for analyzing?
the format for this file is stp and igs.
thanks
STEP & IGES are CAD exchange format supported by almost softwares, including Hypermesh.
However, native Catia V5 format (CATPart, CATProduct) is importable into Hypermesh ONLY if you have Catia module license.

yes,I have Catia module license. but why use CATPart format is better?

Hi,
During conversion into universal formats like .igs, .stp there is certain loss of geometric data this can lead to more time in geometry clean up and if you have the original format and have license to import it , the work of geometry cleanup generally reduces.
