Segmentation Error when opening files

Hello,

I encounter a segmentation error when opening a geometry file in HyperMesh. The same file reads easily on a computer of a colleague of mine. Is there a way to solve the issue?

Second question is related to backwards compatibility of HyperMesh: If I save a file in HyperMesh 12, can I open it in HyperMesh 11 or older versions?

Regards

    Hello,

    to answer your questions:

    1) I have encountered this issue before in HyperMesh 12. It seems to be related to your installation and (graphics) hardware. What usually helps, is to open HyperMesh Desktop instead of HyperMesh. There, the files usually read without error

    2) No, HyperMesh files are never backwardly compatible to older versions. The other way (HM 11 to 12) works however

In general, segmentation errors can be solved by deleting settings files , see http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/13434-how-to-delete-settings-files/

In cases of backward incompatibility a good workaround is to export the files as a solver deck for example and import it in previous versions.
