Post process msc nastran(v2005) Complex results in Hyperview(v8sr1)
I am trying to post process MSC Nastran(.op2 resullt file) complex mode results in Hyperview.
1.converted .op2 in to res and read in hyperview.
2. I could not find where to set phase angle for the complex mode results.
3.For the displacement set as magnitude, animation gives same mode shapes for irrespective of result type i.e. complex, real or imaginary which is not correct. Real and imaginary modes should be orthogonal and complex mode should be combination of both at that phase angle. I am not sure at this point is this a bug or limitation of the post processor itself.
4.I took this result in to Ideas NX series m4 and stored animation for one of the mode with displacement set as magnitude and result type to complex at phase angle zero. Also real, imaginary and complex modes makes sense here but Hyperview animations never compared to this and did not make sense.
I really appreciate if any one of you could tell me why do i get such a difference in results and what should i do to resolve the post processing issue.

Hi Ravindra,
First of all you could use OP2 directly in to Hyper view and no need to convert it in to res unless other wise you wanted to.
There was an issue with the solver panel in 80SR1 for complex result conversion where you convert op2 to res in Hypermesh and it’s corrected in HM90. Could you try HM90 for this conversion or else use OP2 directly in to HV as I said earlier.
Hope this will help
Thanks
