Effect of WARPAGE

Hi,
In simple words Warpage is out of plane angle (applicable for quad elements)
Result quality is directly proportional to element quality.
With check elements panel you can check specific element quality failure and quality index panel help to improve element quality.
Normally warpage failure will happen on curved surfaces.
For simple geometry warpage should be lesser then 7degreee and for complex it should be lesser than 15 degree.(criteria taken from practical aspect of finite element simulation book)
No universal guideline are available for quality check.

see HyperWorks Desktop Applications > HyperMesh > User's Guide > Meshing > Checking & Editing Mesh > Element Quality:
How Element Quality is Calculated
This is the amount by which an element (or in the case of solid elements, an element face) deviates from being planar. Since three points define a plane, this check only applies to quads. The quad is divided into two trias along its diagonal, and the angle between the trias’ normals is measured.
Warpage of up to five degrees is generally acceptable.

Hi Rahul,
What about the case if second order quad is considered. QUAD8.

I would say the same calculation method etc should apply,

Thank You all
But the thing is suppose my element is failed due to warpage in meshing i havn't clear the quality of warpage. If i export this model to any solver and see the results what will be the effect in the results (if my element is failed with warpage)

The results may not be accurate enough, see the ebook - practical aspects of FEA - http://www.altairuniversity.com/free-study-guide-book/
