Hi,

I would like to apply a nodal thickness to shell element along the edge of a tube to increase the simulation accuracy. But I can't find any information from the lsdyna manual regarding nodal thickness.

Is it a kind of contact problem by using contact key word or mesh connection problem? Or can anyone please give a brief explanation, maybe a brief introduction how to do it?

Many thanks,

    Hi,

Card edit element (on right of delete shortcut).

    Check nodal thickness

    Choose T1, T2, T3 and T4

Be carrefull, I don't know if it's combined with the properties thickness. I never use it, so test it with a simple problem.

    Hi, Ducarouge,

As you suggested in the card edit panel, there is no option to choose 'nodal thickness', but config and type. When I choose a element type and proceed to card editor, I am able to choose thickness from the 'option' menu. Is this what you meant in your previous post?

    Hi,

Is there a way to apply nodal thickness  to the nodes as circled in the red in the attachment instead of do it one element by one element?

If you can do that one by one, then you can do that with a TCL script for several elements.
