Hi,

I have a problem with HyperMesh.
It uses only 900 Mo of my RAM (and can't go further) while it would be useful to use more for some operations.

So, I would like to increase this limit level. Do you have any ideas to do that ?

Thank you !

Regards,
Cya.

    Hi cya,

Go to > Analysis >Radioss/optistruct > Memory options

here change it from'memory default'to required value (the maximum value depends on your RAM size)

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

You say 'Radioss/optistruct' options, but it works for HyperMesh operations anyway ?

'Radioss/optistruct' memory options are for SOLVER, not for your Hypermesh session.

IMHO, Hypermesh uses memory automatically when needed. You say your Hypermesh uses ONLY 900MB? Maybe your model needs only that quantity of memory? How about your model size? Do you try any bigger model yet ?

Sometimes, my Hypermesh's session uses some Go of memory (overs my 20Go physical memory).

    Hello Friends,

I have same problem. My ram is 16 GB. But Hypermesh is working very slowly for small models.  Can you help me?

    Thank you in advance

16GB of ram is NOT small at all for a workstation. If your Hypermesh is slow, I think RAM is not the cause.

What about your graphical card ? Your OS ?

    My PC properties are windows 8.1, Intel® Core™ i7-5700HQ 4-Cores,  2GB GDDR5 nVIDIA® GeForce® GTX960M 128-Bit DX12. And my installation disc is 256GB SSD

    Hi Mechanist,

What is the version of HyperWorks you are using?

May be you can check if the graphics drivers are up-to-date...

I think in analysis options you can add '-core in' to force HyperMesh to allocate more Ram for the analysis

Go to start>adjust the appearance and performance of windows>advanced>change

untick automatically manage paging file size for all drives

in custom size keep initial size greater than 1.5 times and maximum size 3 times of your RAM size and click set

ex. if 4 gb ram allocate 7000-14000 Mb

hope this will solve your problem

let me know if this works for you also
