Von mises with simple averaging
Hi,
Could anyone please let me know what are the averaging methods like simple, maximum, none in the contour panel?
Actually for my model, von mises stress is 502N/mm2 with simple and 652N/mm2 without any method. The practical analysis test rig gave 516N/m2 stress.
Why we want to use those averaging methods? By which method i can meet the practical results?
I appreciate your help.......

Hi Bhavana,
Please refer to chapter 20 in Practical Aspects of Finite Element Simulation (a Study Guide)
The book is free to download from http://www.altairuni...a-study-guide/

How can I obtain corner results for composite stresses? I only manage to iobtain them for element stresses (2D) which is not what I want when working with composite modelling.
And is it possible to obtain corner data (Forces, Moments) for the nodes of a 1D-Element (cbar, cbeam, crod)? I only get the average result of the element but what I need is to read the Forces and Moment et the connecting nodes (not averaged).

Hi MSC,
Corner results for CSTRESS is not available for now. This should be available in the coming release of HyperWorks.

And what about 1D-elements? I want to examine the Forces and Moments at the end point of a beam or at a connecting point to other beams...so I need the data in the node of a beam element and not the average result.
Is this possible to obtain?

Hi,
Can you try to download one more time. We never came across such problem before.
