Hi everyone,

I'm trying to complete crash test simulation via Hypermesh and Ls-Dyna.  I have not modeled whole of the car. Only front of the car is modeled. But,i want to see the effect of the total weightt of the car in the analysis. In other words, for the sake of reducing run time i divide the car into two parts and only one is used in the finite element model . My question is that how to model other part set mass ? MASS, SPH, Slipring.... which one should i use to model whole car's weight ?

    Hi,

I see they use MASS element for such problem

cut away tail half of model, make a rbe2 elem on sliced nodes, add a mass elem to COG

When i used 1D-->Mass element, i get this message. Created mass element is identified as ELEMENT_SEATBELT_SLIPRING by Hypermesh and Ls-Dyna  as you see  below . Whenever i tried to create mass element whose types Inertia, SPH, MASS,MASS_PAR, i always get this error.  Every trial has ended with the  card of  *ELEMENT_SEATBELT_SLIPRING.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    ***Error ELEMENT_SEATBELT_SLIPRING id 9379969

repeated belt IDs are not allowed.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

could you please explain where to finf rbe2 element ?

    Thanks,

I see, it may be a bug when mass elem type was default MASS but generated as SLIPRING

You can change type by enter panel 'elem type' select the SLIPRING elems and 'update' them as MASS

Create RBE2 in 1D/rigid panel, lsdyna calls RBE2 as 'RgdBody'
